Welcome to the The Carter House in Kagawong, Ontario, a heritage home converted into an inn, offering an intimate bed and breakfast experience in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.  

 

The Carter House Bed and Breakfast (circa 1898) is in the heart of the picturesque

village of Kagawong, Ontario on the beautiful Manitoulin Island.  It is surrounded by

a wraparound veranda, mature trees, and a white picket fence. A short walk will take

you to Bridal Veil Falls, quaint shops, a fabulous spa, the downtown core, and a

magnificent sand beach on the picturesque shore of the North Chanel in Lake Huron. 

With the surrounding waters and stunning scenery, Kagawong is a delightful location

to enjoy nature’s beauty at its finest during all four seasons.  

 

Our guest rooms have been extensively renovated to feature private-ensuite

bathrooms.  All richly appointed rooms feature free wifi and queen-size beds with

crisp, luxurious linens for a comfortable and tranquil stay. Those traveling for pleasure or business will find

that The Carter House will exceed their expectations. 

 

In the morning, enjoy a delightful gourmet breakfast, which can be enjoyed inside the dining room or

outside on the wraparound porch.  Breakfast is served between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.  Freshly brewed

coffee, tea, juice and pastries will await you upon wakening. If it so happens that your Manitoulin Island

adventures start prior to 8:30 a.m., arrangements for an earlier serving will be made for your convenience.

 

We have four beautiful custom-painted teepees on the west side of the property. Our guests will have

access to BBQ's, picnic tables, a kitchen and shower house. These teepees are

perfect for the entire family or a couple. This is one experience you will never forget.  

 

The proprietor is Jason and Kelly Thibault. Kelly’s dream of running an establishment that

offers a unique and charming travel experience to patrons has now become a well-loved reality.
